Civil Procedure - Best Bets

Preferred by Practitioners

Federal Practice and Procedure / Charles Alan Wright, et al.

Commonly known as "Wright & Miller," this multivolume set is a great choice for authoritative treatment of civil procedure issues, along with relevant case citations.

Moore's Federal Practice / James Wm. Moore; Daniel R. Coquillette ... [et al.].

Another excellent treatise on civil procedure.  Volumes are available in the Library's Reading Room at KF 8820.A313 M632x, but are only updated through mid-2007.
